Isabella Hayward is a London-based jazz vocalist and actor with a diverse musical background. Originally from Somerset, UK and St Vincent and the Grenadines, she brings a rich blend of musical influences to her work. Isabella specialises in jazz, big band and musical theatre styles.
Isabella has performed worldwide at renowned theatres, intimate luxury venues and festivals. She has toured some of the UK and Europe’s most beautiful theatres in concerts, regional theatre, and Shakespeare repertory theatre. These include The London Palladium, Royal Albert Hall, Academy of Arts Berlin, Soho House, Roundhouse London, The Minack Theatre, Latitude Festival and Villa Catignano, Tuscany. Her credits span session work for various artists' projects at top UK studios, regional and actor-musician theatre, film and voiceover work.
With the soft undertone of her background in theatre, love of The Great American Songbook and old Broadway styles, she brings fresh ideas, large range and impressive vocal agility.
Isabella studied Acting at Drama Studio London and Jazz Vocals at Berklee College of Music/Berklee Online. Her passion for storytelling is the thread running through her work to date, bringing fresh energy to timeless melodies whilst paying homage to the styles of yesterday. Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hart and Cole Porter are some of her favourite composers to sing. Anita O’Day, Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Samara Joy are a few of her greatest inspirations.
Isabella can also be seen regularly performing with 1920s vocal harmony trio The Wild Tonics across the UK and aboard the British Pullman, a Belmond train and with duo The Old Fashioned.
Claire Martin OBE, world renowned British jazz vocalist is her voice teacher and mentor.
